What can wait a season and what needs the same week
A stable hairline crack can wait through a season, especially if it is not near the garage, footpath or a steep section. Mark it, photograph it and check after heavy rain. If it stays the same width and the slab remains level, there is no reason to rush into paid work.
A trip lip, water entry, pumping joint or crack across a crossover should not wait. These problems either affect safety, drainage or council-controlled infrastructure. A same-week inspection does not mean a same-week pour, but it does mean you know whether temporary protection, drainage or a replacement plan is needed.
